Find out how to adjust your seat for optimum comfort
Did you know that 85% of occupational illnesses recorded in 2010 concerned musculo-skeletal disorders (MSDs) and low back pain? To prevent these problems and improve your comfort, it's essential to adapt your office chair to your body shape. A well-adjusted seat helps ease muscular tension, reduce lower back pain and prevent musculo-skeletal disorders.
Basic information about adjustments
To adjust your office chair correctly, here are the key points to bear in mind:
Find a comfortable sitting position

Back comfort

Seat height
Your seat should be adjusted so that your feet rest flat on the floor, at a 90° angle to your knees. This reduces the pressure on your legs and encourages blood circulation.
Seat depth
The seat depth should be adjusted so that the back of your thighs are comfortably supported, while leaving a gap of 2 to 3 cm between the edge of the seat and the back of your knees.
Backrest height
The backrest of your seat should offer the appropriate support for your spine. Adjust it to your body size for optimum support
Lower back support
Adjustable lower back support relieves tension in the lumbar region. Good lumbar support helps you maintain a natural posture and prevent lower back pain.
Neck comfort

Add a headrest option
For additional head and neck support, a headrest option can be added, depending on your chair model. This headrest can be adjusted in height or angle for maximum comfort.
Shoulder comfort

Opting for armrests
Armrests play an important role in shoulder and arm comfort.
The following options are available:
• 1D armrests: height adjustment.
• 3D armrests: height, width and depth adjustable.
• 4D armrests: fully adjustable, with rotation to adapt perfectly to your movements.
Choosing the right EOL mechanism for made-to-measure comfort
The seat mechanism determines how your office chair behaves and adapts to your movements. Here are the different options:
